Copenenhagen Jazz Festival

Copenhagen Jazz Festival, held in early July in Denmark’s capital city, becomes a jazz capital for this well attended event.  The festival begins first Friday of July for 10 days and was established in 1979.

Many of the concerts are free and concerts are held everyday, virtually everywhere.  The major artist perform at the Royal Opera, The Royal Teeatre, The Royal Danish Playhouse, Glassalen and in Tivoli.

Tickets for the Copenhagen Jazz Festival are available early in the year and it is wise to make arrangements for accommodations early. In 2005, over 240,000 people attended the festival and there were over 850 concerts.  The Copenhagen Jazz Festival is one of the largest annual jazz festivals in the world.
