Monterey Jazz Festival

The Monterey Jazz Festival was established in 1958 and is one the longest consecutively running jazz festival in the world.  The festival is a 3 day event and takes place on the third full weekend in September, beginning on Friday.

The Monterey Jazz Festival is held annually on  20 acres at the Monterey Fairgrounds in Monterey, California, USA.  More then 500 top jazz artist perform on nine stages spread throughout the fairgrounds.  Ticket sales are limited to 40,000 so the festival never gets too crowed.

Monterey Jazz Festival arena packages started at $210 in 2007.  Ground tickets will get you into all other performance venues for much less.  Most tickets sell out well before the Jazz Festival begins..
